I am a Chartered Legal Executive and was the founding Chair of CILEx Lincolnshire Branch, overseeing its launch. I have 25 years PQE and 28 years’ experience in legal practice. I have excellent communication skills and listen carefully to the stories that people have to tell. It is always rewarding to hear my clients tell me how pleased they are with the work I have undertaken for them. I am committed to providing the best I service I can, and to ensuring that legal representation is there for the people who need it.
I have undertaken voluntary work for the Bar Pro Bono Unit, many of whom have been denied access to justice by the legal reforms brought in by the previous administration.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, and I sing in a choral society. I also enjoy embroidery and designing banners. I am a history buff, and I am still undecided whether Richard III did the dirty deed or not! I am also committed to my church as a local preacher; in addition I was the editor of Listen Magazine for the Lay Community of St Benedict and served on their governing body as a Council member. I have three daughters, of whom I am immensely proud, and 4 delightful grandchildren who I enjoy spoiling whenever I have a chance to do so. Finally, I am the human slave to 3 troublesome and very spoilt cats!
Why have I called my company after Boudica – an iconic figurehead? I live in what was once the heartland of the Iceni tribe — often referred to as Boudica country — and I have a long-standing passion for ancient history. Among all the figures from Britain’s past, Boudica stands out not only as a powerful leader, but as part of one of the earliest and most striking lessons in the importance of wills, legacy, and protection.Boudica is remembered for leading a revolt against Roman rule in Britain. Why did she instigate a revolt against Roman rule? Her husband, King Prasutagus of the Iceni, left a will intended to protect his family and his people. In an attempt to secure peace, he divided his estate — gifting half of the tribal lands to Boudica and their daughters, and half to the Roman Emperor. He believed that by doing so, his wife and children would be safeguarded under Roman law. That belief proved tragically mistaken. Instead of honouring the will, the Roman authorities seized all of the Iceni lands. When Boudica challenged this injustice, she was publicly beaten, and her daughters were brutally assaulted. The will that was meant to provide protection failed, and the consequences were devastating — not only for one family, but for an entire people. Boudica’s revolt was born from this betrayal: a refusal to accept the stripping away of rights, dignity, and legacy. At Boudica Will Services Ltd, this history matters. It serves as a stark reminder of why wills must be written clearly, properly, and with a full understanding of how they will be upheld. A will is not just a document — it is your voice when you are no longer there to speak for yourself or those you love.
