The Society of Will Writers was set up in April of 1994 as a trade association for Will Writers, more commonly known as a membership body providing a voluntary framework of regulation.
Following on from the launch of the dedicated will writer training centre in 2014, the SWW has developed a range of courses for Estate Planning Professionals and solicitors.

The importance of having a valid Will that is fit for purpose is not to be underestimated. In the UK Will Writing is an unregulated profession – this means that anybody can write a Will, whether it be for themselves, or for somebody else.
A Will can be changed after death provided some simple requirements are met; mainly that those left worse off by the change agree, and the variation is completed within 2 years of the death.
The Society of Will Writers is a non-profit making self-regulatory organisation whose primary objectives are the advancement, education and ethical standards within the will writing profession.
