May we take this opportunity to introduce you to the Scottish Society of Will Writers (SSWW).
The SSWW was formed last year when it was apparent that legislation would be passed to regulate Will Writing in Scotland under the Legal Services (Scotland) Bill.
Once again Scotland is leading the way with the introduction of the Act and it is expected that the rest of the UK will follow in the next year or so following the current discussion period on Will Writing in England and Wales.
The Society of Will Writers and Estate Planning Practitioners, who have been active in Scotland for over 15 years supporting Will Writers created the SSWW to meet the needs of those organisations and individuals who require training and support.
The SSWW has offices in South Gyle with full training facilities and has recruited Hazel Johnson a well established and respected solicitor in Edinburgh to provide the training and technical support for members.
To further support Members in Scotland the SSWW has a close association with David Johnson, again a highly respected solicitor based in Edinburgh. Through his practice David offers members full support with regard to probate and document storage as well as more complex matters.
The SSWW has also arranged special rates with Green’s Publishers the Scottish Law Publishers who publish Express Wills for Scotland.
As a professional working in the financial services sector you will know only too well how much the recession has reduced your income: offering Wills to your clients could be the answer to getting much of this back.
Offering a Will Writing service to your existing and new clients could not be simpler, the SSWW has a plan that can be tailored to you and your practice; we can introduce you to existing members in Scotland or we can show you how you can become a Will drafter in your own right. Whichever route you choose we have the courses available to ensure that you start out with the confidence and competence to take good instructions.
