Whether you are an existing member of the SWW or considering membership you should want to make the most of membership to our organisation.
Here are a few points for consideration in 2017.
Full membership to the SWW comes in at £0.82 per day. That’s less than a cup of coffee every day. If it were me then, I would want to make sure I was getting this back in benefits everyday, week, or month.
By far the biggest benefit of full membership is the free and unlimited technical advice. If you were to approach an alternative expert for advice then they would be likely to charge you an hourly rate for the advice they provide. The result of which is that your £300 wouldn’t last too long. With our advice you are welcome to email in as many times as you like and we will always try to respond to your query within 48 hours.
As a member of the SWW you also get a listing on our website which serves as proof to prospective clients that you are a member. It also may provide leads to your business. The profile is fully customisable. You can detail the services you offer, the areas you cover and can add a picture of yourself if you wish. Your profile can be branded for your business and will have active hyperlinks to contact you or to go to your website.
Another benefit of membership is our public helpline. You are welcome to invite your clients to call in to verify your membership to the SWW.
We invite you to provide your clients with an SWW satisfaction survey which they can then send to us by free post. We are planning to do a monthly draw on all positive responses.
The SWW has 19 independent regional groups which are open to both members and non-members. All attendees have to pay to attend the meetings and as a benefit of membership SWW members pay a reduced fee. If it is your first meeting your attendance is free. Each regional group meets bi-monthly and invites expert speakers or has engaging and relevant topics.
On an annual basis the SWW holds a conference. This event is held over 2 days and open to both members and non-members. Delegates will benefit from industry leading speakers discussing present issues in the Estate Planning industry.
Marketing Material is available to SWW members. We are constantly creating content across our social media platforms, blogs, e-mag and in physical form for members to share with clients and prospective clients. This should make their marketing strategy easier to plan for.
Members will be registered for the SWW’s private members forum (should they wish) where they can talk to like minded professionals about their cases, get their opinions and engage in general conversation.
SWW members get discount on courses through the College of Will Writing. After completing the SWWEPP Wills and Estate Planning Certificate Course you can get 30 credits towards the STEP course.
Members also get access to the following services which as non-members they would not be able to access:
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
As a Sure Will Writer user you would be entitled to technical support on the system. This works in the same way as the technical advice we provide. You could email in any questions and we would provide a response within 48 hours. In addition we would be happy to check your first 6 Wills for free (checking for technical accuracy and checking to make sure that your instructions match the outcome of the Will).

You would be introduced to our storage facility (The National Will Archive) and provided with all the necessary forms for storing your clients legal documents with us.
The team at the SWW are happy to provide members with advice and support with their marketing. This could be anything from support in creating a marketing strategy to personalised leaflets, posters, logo design, rebrand assist, web design and proofing.
If you would like information about joining the SWW please feel free to email Tom Stansfied (tho[email protected]) or Anthony Belcher ([email protected]) in the SWW communication department. They would be happy to help address any questions.
