The Society of Will Writers is the primary self-regulatory body for the Will Writing industry. This means we provide a regulatory framework for our members who are active professionals in our field. As an SWW member they have to provide us with proof of insurance, they must adhere to our Code of Practice and must train themselves regularly which means that they are:
The regulatory bit is what we do. As the client or prospective client of a member your job is to have a will written which meets your needs, and will mean that should anything happen to you, your estate will be distributed as you would want. Not writing a Will can result in some pretty distressing circumstances for family and friends who have to deal with the mess you leave behind.
The sad fact of life is that death is certain. We just don’t know when it will happen. It is therefore best to prepare and have the correct legal documents in place. Once they are in place you should update your Will as necessary which may be every 3-5 years.
If you haven’t had your Will written and would like to speak to an SWW member then visit our ‘find a member‘ page and search in your county. Our members are normally prepared to travel and can see you in the comfort of your own home.
