Not only is it wise to have a valid Will, but also it
should not be neglected
Making a Will is one of the most thoughtful things a
person can ever do. Sadly, not enough people realize the
distress and disruption that can be caused for a family
when someone dies intestate - without a Will. As time
goes by, things will change and it is always a good
idea, once made, to keep it safe and check it now and
again to see if it still reflects your wishes.

Wills and other related documents together with property
deeds and other important paper based documents.
As an additional service and security, all wills stored

Custody for Life
The Society can store your Will (and associated
documents such as Advance Directives, EPA's and Tenancy
Severance deeds) for as little as £25 per year. This is
a 'no frills', safe and secure storage facility, with
the added benefit of quick and easy deposit and
retrieval. Wills can be retrieved at any time and
replaced at no further cost. And all wills and
associated documents are checked by experienced staff
upon receipt for validation as to the correct execution
of the documents.
Once your documents have been stored, you will receive a
Certificate of Custody, which details not only the Will
but also any associated documents lodged with the
Custody service. You will also receive for each Will
deposited two encapsulated 'Executor' cards, detailing
how an Executor may retrieve the documents upon the
death of the Testator.
Security
For additional security, documents cannot be retrieved
from the store unless two signatures from the
testator/testatrix are provided or in the case of a
death, submission of the Death Certificate.
The Living Box Service
The Living Box service was added to allow the deposit of
property deeds or other non -Will related documents to
be held in custody. Apart from house deeds, any paper
item, such as letters, photographs or policies can be
stored within the personalized box, and upon death the
box and contents dispatched to any person or address
within the UK as stipulated on the registration form.
Remember
Keep your Will in a safe place, where people know where
it is, and make sure it cannot be lost or damaged, as
this could invalidate its contents. Most high street
banks and building societies have safe holding
facilities (although they will normally charge you
annually for its safekeeping). Alternatively, you may
wish to consider the Society's Storage Facility (above),
which ensures its security and whereabouts for those
that will need to obtain it ultimately.
