Over that past 5 years the average cost of a funeral has risen from £1,920 to £2,733* a rise of over 42% and this rise is set to continue.

To ensure he covered his funeral costs in the future he would probably have to increase these premiums to £37 per month, and if he lived for a further 20 years that would be a staggering £8,880.  More.

Brian McMillan, Director General of the Society of Will Writers (SWW), said if solicitors spent more time promoting the importance of having a will and less time sniping at other will-writing professionals, there would be more chance of making inroads into the mere 30 per cent of people who have a will.  More.
